Leaving home and fleeing to a foreign and unknown country is not an easy decision to make; however, refugees all around the world have to make the hard decision in order to flee from violence and obtain security. As refugees experience different challenges due to the new atmosphere, a common obstacle is the language barrier between refugees and the individuals in the country. 

It is difficult for refugees to settle comfortably knowing there is a language barrier. It is important for refugees to be able to communicate with one another as it can help them obtain jobs, make friends, get resources, etc. Most importantly, it avoids them feeling left out. Having them get familiar with the local language allows for inclusiveness and there is less feeling ofbeing lonely. It is easier and more effective when sharing cultures and stories. By engaging with others in the local language, refugees become more integrated into their new communities. This sense of belonging and inclusion reduces feelings of isolation and alienation, making refugees less vulnerable to discrimination and bullying. 

It is important that refugees are given resources that allow them to learn the language and to get comfortable with the local community. Allowing refugees to have easy access to classes, volunteers, teachers, or any resources that grant them to enhance the language is a great way for them to begin their journey. If they aren’t comfortable with that, introducing them to apps and websites could allow them to learn on their own and make their way around. The objective is to make the lives of refugees easier as they have already endured enough challenges. 

In conclusion, learning the language of a new country is not just about communication. It is really about building the pathway to fostering inclusion, and empowering refugees to navigate their new environment with confidence and dignity. By promoting language education and creating welcoming communities, we can work towards a world where refugees are valued, respected, and protected from discrimination and bullying.
