October 28, 2020:

RSA hosted a COVID-friendly talent show over Zoom, showcasing so many talented individuals with an array of performances. We raised over $200 for Carty House! This was the first large event that was hosted, and we were so happy with the turnout, as well as the amazing performers. Check out the trailer!
February 17, 2021:

We hosted a donation drive in which sanitary and cleaning products were collected from donors around Ottawa! To be Covid-aware, the event consisted of door-to-door contactless pickups from our club exec members who made sure to constantly sanitize! Thanks to everyone for the wonderful turnout! All the donations were delivered to the Carty House (they were beyond pleased and thankful!).

Our amazing club won the "Best New Club Award" and the "Covid Award" for the 2020-2021 year! This was such a huge accomplishment, and we are so proud of all our hardworking members and volunteers!

A panel of speakers were invited to talk about numerous subjects related to immigration, law, refugee/asylum experiences, and much more! RSA raised over $480.00 for the Carty House through this event - safe to say it was a success! Swipe the image for more information about the awesome speakers and where to find them!

Our speakers included: Luisa Veronis - a professor at the University of Ottawa, Anca Dumitrescu Jelea - the founder and owner of JAD LAW, Louise Ebeltoft - the Manager of Operations for the Carty house, and lastly, Justine Nkurunziza - an indpendant consultant and human rights defender.

The Women's Day Academic Web Conference brought together an amazing panel of five speakers on the topic of immigration and refugees. The event raised $270.00 in donations!

Our speakers included: Patti Tamara Lenard, Arthur Ayers, Emily Wills, Dominique Desjardins, and Omer Livvarcin. Swipe through the photos to see a complete list of their specialities.

March 23 to 30, 2022

The RSA hosted a silent auction in order to raise money for the Carty House ( https://cartyhouse.org/ ). The Carty House is an organization that our club supports throughout the year. They are a transitional housing and support organization for female refugees in Ottawa. 50-100% of the proceeds of each item went towards TCH and the remainder towards supporting the local artists and photographers who have kindly participated in our auction.​

The RSA and its CSL students organized a hybrid movie night event with prizes to be won and a Kahoot to test your trivia skills!

The RSA's first every in-person event! A paint night open to everyone. Anyone and everyone can attend this event - whether you are a seasoned artist or a first-timer, everyone is welcome. This event is to spread awareness about refugee issues and to gain presence on campus. Participants are encouraged to donate their paintings to Carty House
